On the morning of Monday 18th July, we took Trixie Trishaw along to Anchor’s Millbeck Care Home in Norton to offer the residents taster on the trishaw as part of their Commonwealth Games activities.

It was a very warm morning, with temperatures in the high 20s, when we met Sarah, the Activities Coordinator outside the care home to introduce ourselves and, of course, the amazing Trixie. Sarah was great and provided our team with water to stay hydrated in the heat.

While there, we had the pleasure of taking 6 residents out for a ride along the High Street, around the duck pond and Norton Green. After some trepidation by one or two passengers, we returned them to Anchor’s staffs care with large grin’s on their faces and some even wanted to go round again!

I think a good time was had by all. One of the passengers commented that it was nice to have the wind in her hair again after not being on a bike in years – intended goal achieved!
