Cycling Without Age was invited to pitch at Stockton Soup, at ARC in Stockton, in July for some community funding towards the launch of our Stockton Chapter of Cycling Without Age which involves purchasing our first trishaw.

There were three other groups there to pitch for a share of the funds available: Red Balloons, REACH and Hidden Talents. As this was my first time at anything like this I was quite nervous but the friendly atmosphere soon helped me to relax. We were the third group to pitch and apart from a few hesitant mistakes we did okay.

After all the groups had made their pitch, the voting took place while we talked to the people in the bar, networked and answered questions about Cycling Without Age. We also had people coming up the volunteer to pilot the trishaws when we get one and sharing details of potential funding opportunities that might be beneficial to our organisation.

On the evening we received 33% of the vote and received a donation of £377.67 towards our first trishaw, which is amazing!

All in all, it was a very good night. Thank you to Stockton Soup for the opportunity to pitch and the funds we received on the night. Finally thanks to ARC Stockton for allowing Stockton Soup to use the venue.
